English phonetics

So, I am still trying to master my English pronunciation skills. I was so desperate that I am not uttering the correct sounds, that I even bought a little nice camera from BestBuy for about 200 bucks. Now you might think that this was crazy, but uhm, when you go to war, you behave like you're at war. Wait... was that the saying? Maybe I'm mixing it up...

ANYWAY. Got my camera, made my very first few clips (which hopefully will never see daylight), but things were just not going well. Until I just tonight randomly figured out what could have been the reason for my phonetic failures. I can't remember what pushed me to think in this direction, but I realized that when people in America speak, they tend to open their mouths a bit wider than usual. In Bulgaria, a lot of people don't open their mouths as wide as they should be, and therefore the sounds are kinda mumbly-humbly. But here in America, everyone talks with a wide mouth, and they make a lot of mouth movements. Except for Sylvester Stallone... but even his mouth positions are much better than what I have been doing. I was practically staying with a close mouth, while trying to utter sounds. Almost like a ventriloquist.

So... I just made some experiments with the new mouth technique with some Friends scripts, and surprise surprise - it turned out pretty damn well. Fucking mouth, why didn't I open it wider!!! Anyways. I think I am gonna experiment with this tomorrow, and see how people react.
